The American Bakers Association's Bakers Manufacturing Academy offers courses for professionals new to the baking industry. The courses teach fundamental knowledge that new hires, department transfers, and those seeking a refresher will find invaluable as they start and grow in their positions. 

Entry-Level Cookie and Cracker Training

  • Foundational knowledge for all employees new to cookie and cracker plant operations
  • Online, 4-5 total hours, up to 6 weeks to finish
  • Lessons include: Ingredients, Mixing, Forming, Baking
  • Available in English and Spanish

Baking Basics 101

  • Fundamental knowledge for all employees new to working in any baking facility
  • 1 hour total, up to 2 weeks to finish
  • Lessons include: Workplace Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene, Technical Training
  • Available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese

 

For both courses, training managers receive simple student registration, documentation, and progress updates. All students have access to a Glossary of Terms and can print a Certificate of Completion upon successfully passing a multiple-choice final test.
