On December 7 from 2-3 pm EST, ABA Research Sponsor, Puratos, will share their exclusive findings on consumers’ feelings around food and how those views are evolving during COVID-19 and as they emerge from the initial lockdowns. The results are a telling snapshot of emerging consumer preferences for bread, sweet goods, and chocolate, as well as consumer expectations around shopping and baking after lockdown. The findings provide predictions for the future to help businesses grow in the New Normal.

3. *NEW* TrayTheft.org Information and Resources
Reusable plastic trays are integral to the distribution of baked goods. Unfortunately, baking industry companies spend more than $10 million annually in plastic tray replacement costs due to the theft. If tray theft is left unchecked, the tray replacement costs associated with these crimes can lead to decreased capital investment and more expensive products for the consumer.
ABA has made meaningful progress on the state level to fight the harmful effects of tray loss, helping successfully pass a law in Maryland in 2013 and Texas in 2019. However, we need to continue to engage the public and raise awareness of this issue.
ABA created a Tray Theft Prevention Communication Toolkit and information hub to help you and your team quickly educate your employees and customers on this problem and how to solve it efficiently.
